For about 1/3 the price of the GTR, I think the 2011 GT can be made into formidable competitor to the GTR, for a lot less money at the drag strip. However you can't argue with the specs that the GTR comes from the factory and the AWD advantage.
Would love to see Ford lap the Nürburgring with the Boss 302, as well as a Ford Racing prepped GT with Whipple blower and suspension upgrades. Let's throw in there other tuners such as Roush and another using a centrifugal blower.
Here is the new 2012 Godzilla
The blue car in this video is a 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition with Rays wheels. The red car is a 2011. Official numbers: 530 hp/448lb-ft and 485/434 respectively.
Nissan claims 2.886 seconds to 60 (in perfect conditions) for 2012 but the best run we eyeballed (it was damp with less than ideal surface temp) was 3.0 seconds.
This video is only the 2012 Nissan GT-R, but features a cameo by GT-R Chief Engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno in the foreground.
