"..took the 2011 Mustang 5.0L Turbo to Baytown for a shake down run. This car still has the stock suspension and a full interior running in fully loaded OEM trim.
The 5.0L turbo didn't disappoint. At 14lbs of boost, our second run was a 10.4 @ 133mph with PLENTY of room for improvement."

Evolution Performance Makes 560 RWHP on a FRPP 2011 5.0 Supercharger
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 11:47 PMThe car, a 2011 Mustang GT California Special with a 6-speed automatic transmission (Ford 6R80), looks rather humble on the outside. The exterior is all stock, except for a Roush 7-Bar black grill and a set of 19X9.5” Dark Gunmetal RTR wheels (made by Mustang drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr.). Under the hood though is a host of bolt-on modifications that crank up power quite a bit. To start with, a Ford Racing Performance Part’s Supercharger Tuner kit. This kit comes with the basics needed to supercharge your Mustang. Evolution Performance included their own tune on this particular car, which helps boost power to 560 horsepower at the rear wheels, and 474 ft-lbs of torque.

Wow - Vortech Supercharger Kit 2011 5.0 run 10.86 @ 128 MPH! Automatic!
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 8:38 PMThis car reached owner's garages just this past June/July from assembly line. And Already doing 10s.
If you want to read more about this kit, go to Vortech's blog here: http://bit.ly/Vortech.
After careful review, it looks like this Stang was worked on by Evo Performance and tuned by John Lund. Evo is currently working on their shop 5.0 and installing the Procharger on automatic as well. Will be interesting to see which setup is better. Note the engine cover is cut to fit this massive supercharger.
Vortech apparantly offers a 3 Year, 36,000 Mile Powertrain Warranty option on Vortech's website. Not sure of the cost. Honestly, I am liking this kit more and more. You can fit a beefy strut bar and it all fits nicely under stock hood. Also lower center of gravity on the kit.
Speechless...

Lethal Performance - Run 11.26@122mph w/ Ford Racing/Whipple 624hp
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 6:44 PMWhat the data tells me is that for the price, the Pro Charger might be the better setup. At less boost and lower cost, you can prob make similar or more whp and similar trap speeds. Time will tell as we await Evo Performance's numbers with their Pro Charger kit on Auto 5.0.
Below is the comment post on their facebook.:

Alright guys.. We went to the track last night. Typical FL summer weather. Hot and humid. The first 2 runs were aborted before the 1/8 mile as Derek thought that something was wrong with the steering as the car started shaking pretty badly. We checked the wheels and everything was tight so without a cool down Derek went at it again. I believe this run was a 11.30@121mph. He had a 1.6X 60ft. Then we let the car cool and got in another run which yielded us a 11.26@122mph. This is with the FRPP tune just the way it comes in the kit. Stock suspension stock cats. Now there's a few things which I believe kept us from our 10 sec pass. One of which was our tire size. Before we received the blower kit we put on a set of 26" tall tires replacing the 28" ones as we thought we would be NA for a bit longer. However the blower kit came in sooner than we expected and never got to put the 28's back on. This made it so Derek had to shift into 5th each run when passing the 1/4. The extra shift hurts. So next time we'll have the 28's back on which should make a difference. Next.. Timing.. The tune from FRPP is very conservative. Granted it's 50 state legal it only has 13deg of timing under full throttle. We know that a custom tune will wake this car up and give us that 10 that we're looking for. I'll have videos and pics up soon.

Lethal Performance - Ford Racing/Whipple 624hp supercharger kit
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 6:27 PMThe work was performed at Power By the Hour Performance in Boynton Beach FL by Jake, Jesse, Takeshi and John. The fit and finish of the kit is everything you'd expect from FRPP and Whipple. The kit came complete with everything including the intercooler, intercooler pump, 47lb injectors, lower manifold, supercharger, GT500 throttle body and a custom calibration from the tuning experts at Ford Racing.
All of the details about the installation as well as the dyno and track testing will be documented in an up and coming issue of 5.0 Mustang and Superfords Magazine compliments of editor and good friend Steve Turner.

StangTV teamed up with ProCharger to install a High Output (HO) Intercooled Supercharger System on a brand new 2011 5.0 Mustang owned by RaceSkinz.
Read more about the Procharger system here: http://www.procharger.com/2011_mustang.shtml.
I have found pricing online on various dealers for about $5,896.00 intercooled.
Tuner Kits
The HO Intercooled Tuner Kit is identical to the complete system, but omits fuel injectors and computer programming. Higher boost and power levels are available for modified engines.
ProCharger HO Intercooled System Highlights:
• P-1SC-1 ProCharger self-contained supercharger (helical gearset available for noise reduction)
• Large, front mounted air-to-air intercooler (no front fascia trimming required)
• 8-rib dedicated supercharger drive system (12-rib upgrade coming soon)
• Outstanding OE underhood appearance - retains new 5.0 engine cover
• Fits under stock hood
• Supercharger air inlet fits under factory strut tower brace (standard on California Special package or any cars factory-spec'd with 19-inch wheels)
• No trimming to factory components
• Larger intercoolers are available for cars with modified or select aftermarket front fascias
ProCharger Boost and Power
• Boost: 7 psi
• RWHP: 510+
• Bolt on 165+ hp
• 91 octane fuel required

I know I am not an official press member, but I l would love to get invited to review this car and the people behind the efforts!
Gallery:
My deduction from this entire thing is, if this proves a good package for racing, you are going to see the new 5.0 Mustang become the Supra Twin Turbo 2JZ engine of the past generation. 1k+ whp Mustangs abound. And the solid rear axle comes standard :)
4 camshaft with variable timing and a good turbo setup is going to make some really linear monsters.
I can see it now, Friday night lights Mustang superchargers vs turbo charger classes.
Pistons+Rods+lower compression+17psi - wieght = back to the future.
For those who don't know, SupercarsAmerica is a Steve Saleen company.
Mustang GT 5.0L at Tremblant (stock besides some sticky Toyo RA1)
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 11:21 PMOne word comes to mind regarding the chasis, especially for a rear axel heavyweight. "Balanced"
Great driving madmax69ca
Notable passes: BMW M6, Lotus, Orange Viper, Red Viper, and outbraked and passed an e36 M3, 2 - 350z on the same corner entry!

Motortend compares 5.0 Mustang to BMW M3. 2 videos for you
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 3:57 PMKeep in mind the m3 in the videos has the new suspension upgrade option. And the 5.0 is on standard factory suspension. So what would happen if the 5.0 has Steeda or Ford Racing suspension upgrade? 5.0 for the win! for the $20k price difference, you can own the 5.0 Mustang and pay for 6 years of free gas. Or you can use $10k of the difference for a Ford Racing Supercharger upgrade, and then have 3 yrs of free gas. M3 Still loses.
Sorry for being absent. I have been very busy at work
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 3:55 PMI got a promotion of sorts back in July and i have been hard at work, traveling quite a bit on client visits, and diligently following the Mustang news when i can. Remarkably, I have less than 1200 miles on my new 5.0 and that saddens me. Just wanted to let everyone know I will slowly post more as the amount of business trips decreases.
