2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS vs. 2011 Ford Mustang GT - Comparison Test
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 12:28 PMLabels: Videos
Yesterday I had to see multiple clients in PA and was excited with the opportunity to see how my Mustang would perform as a mobile office and client taxi. The ride down was easy enough, reverse New York traffic, and i cruised at 65-75 the whole way down. I must say the GT in the badge rings true. Other than the bumps where i felt the live axle, the ride reminds me of a Mercedes coupe with long wheelbase. At one point i was so comfortable I started to get relaxed and drowsy so I pulled over at a rest stop for some iced coffee and stretch a bit.

MagnaCharger 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 - Supercharged Spy Photos
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 2:27 PMSunday, July 25, 2010
For whatever reason, the rumors of the Camaro Z28 have always been compared to the 2011 5.0 specs, when it should be mentioned in the same breath as the Shelby GT 500.
Well the Chevy crew finally has their GT500 fighter in testing.
"Visually, we see a blacked-out grill, a larger hood-bulge, a blacked-out badge far too long to say Z28 that could read "Supercharged", wider, ultra performance summer tires-- we're guessing that with the success of the Pilot Sport PS2 tires, they're sticking with Michelin here-- and revised exhaust.
From interior photos we can see that this model is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and an automatic transmission. That's enough proof for us that this is the LSA motor that makes 556-horsepower when nestled in the Cadillac CTS-V."

ProCharger 2011 5.0L Mustang Supercharger System In Development
0 comments Posted by michael adrian at 2:55 PMLabels: Procharger, Superchargers
Sunday, July 18, 2010
Note the reviewer has a 2010 GT w/ Roush supercharger. He is right you can get a great deal on a 2010. But in my personal opinion, the 2011 5.0 is a better base vehicle to add a supercharger. Although the thousands in savings on the 2010 is compelling, life is too short.

How I use: my 2011 GT is a daily driver for now. I drive 12-15k miles per yr for both weekend and client meetings. It's garaged and plan to hand wash as much as possible but with 4 seasons, it will see a brushless car wash often.
My plan is to wait until next summer before adding anything major. Tints and clear bra are already on.
Performance: this is the smoothest and fastest oem engine I have ever owned. It resembles the nature of a naturally aspirated Mercedes AMG unit more than a typical domestic v8.
I love the double nature of this power train; subtle around town yet the torque is always a downshift away.
3rd gear is sick! But 4th and 5th are more than adequate for passing. 6th is the lazy gear.
Skip shift is non intrusive and it has only engaged twice.
4500-6000 rpms is really the sweet spot. But he sound above 6200 is a welcome surprise. Reminds me of a high strung audi v8. Not as high as bmw's m3 v8.
It's a joy I drive the 6 speed manual. The gates are as close as the s2000 I had. The clutch is surprisingly easy for even slow traffic situations.
Exterior: what can I say. It's the new translation of a classic design. Not new, as 2010 is nearly identical. I think this shape resembles the 1969 fastback models. The kona blue paint is deep, rich, and the metallic flakes give the car a multiple color effect depending on the lighting. It's simply awesome, yet understated.
Interior: the 401a package surprised a friend who collects Ferrari'a with it soft to touch character. He was really impressed. It's almost perfect for a muscle car. The only change I would make inside is adjustable fore and aft headrest. The oem unit is angled too far fwd. I will def look to aftermarket for replacements and simply bag up the factory ones.
Cargo: trunk is small but what do you expect? It can fit 2 golf bags and all my business trip luggage perfectly. The pass thru fold down rear seats help with the smaller trunk. I am comparing this to the audi s5 coupe trunk.
Bottom line: as a daily driver I couldn't ask for a better coupe for my needs. I cannot wait for all the parts to come out so I can evaluate other's experience with diff combos.
Suggested improvements:
+fully adjustable head rests
+rollback feature for manuals on an uphill
+deeper side bolsters or a sports seat option
+retractable side mirrors

Another Corsa Xtreme and x-pipe. Sounds awesome. So many nice options. My initial thoughts are kooks long tubes mated to xpipe and corsa xtreme.
But I need to hear it in person before making a decision.

I just got confirmation from Corsa that the Xtreme system for the 2011 5.0 is 45% lighter than stock!
And all Corsa exhausts have RSC for zero drone. When I had my GTI, I owned an APR exhaust who licensed the RSC muffler, and can say I had zero drone at any rpm, speed or load.
